Job Seekers’ Personal Data Compromised

The U.S. government has issued a warning to millions of Internet job seekers whose personal information may have been stolen by hackers. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management issued the warning to users of USAJOBS.gov, a Web site that was compromised by a security breach at Monster.com, the service provider for the Web site, the New York Post reported Monday.
Corra just received a phone call from a client whose identity was recently stolen. The client must now monitor her social security number and check with each credit agency to make sure she doesn’t have a new and silent business partner.
Identity theft is no joke. Corra suggests you run your Social Security Trace periodically to see if anyone else is using your number. Corra also recommends that businesses, especially financial and eqity groups avail themselves of Corra’s business research and business reports to help avoid any fraudulent situations.
Check them out before you hire.
