We wish them luck. We love it when employees become entrepreneurial and take their fate into their own hands. Nothing best defines the American spirit than starting up your own business. But with any new company there are things to bear in mind. Start ups should conduct business research on suppliers as well as commercial clients. They shoudl conduct background checks on all of their potential hires. The last thing you need as a fledgling company is to be embarrassed because of the background histories of the people you hired.
In this economic climate you can take nothing for granted. Most people are out of work because of the economic downturn and the downsizing that goes with it. Others are out of work either because they did something wrong and they were fired, or the recent employer found the opportunity to finally get rid of them.
So…check them out before you hire.
