Court Closures May Delay Background Checks

Inclement weather, national holidays and state furloughs may cause delays to retrieving criminal records ofr preemployment background checks.  As these background checks are essential to our clients, we would like to make you aware of the following information, concerning court closures in Philadelphia and Los Angeles Counties.

Just a reminder that California courts will be closed for Lincoln’s day Friday February 12th, President’s day Monday February 15th, and Work Furlough day Wednesday February 17th. With three out of four working days being closed and low staffing at court due to the budget crises in California we expect heavy delays next week and into the following week. American Research will be at full staff for the next two weeks in order to minimize the turnaround time as much as possible. If you have any questions please let me know. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
News Flash: Due to an impending snowstorm, the Philadelphia Courthouse has closed and will remain closed on Wednesday, February 10, 2010.

We will keep you updated on any further news of delays or closures within the county court systems.
