Corra Group Looks to a Surge in Employment Screening for a Challenging Holiday Season

Corra Group sees challenges this year for employers looking to staff for the holiday season. As the El Segundo, California headquarter background checking service prepares for the seasonal holiday hiring, it cautions its clients to get an early start with the hiring process.

“Corra Group has seen a significant increase in employment screening, this past year,” said Corra Group Co-Founder Nick Gustavson. “As such, we can see that the job pool is substantially less competitive than it has been in recent years. Unemployment statistics reflect fewer people are looking for work, which adds pressure for employers seeking temporary help for seasonal work.

“A few years ago, it was much easier to find qualified job applicants who had decent skill sets and no worrisome criminal records who in need of work were happy to accept the temporary seasonal employment,” said Gustavson. “This is not the case so much as employers are now competing for the more qualified candidates who can afford to be more selective in their job searches.”

Gustavson offered that since the potential applicants in the job poor are far less than in seasons past, it is advisable that employers apply careful scrutiny to their applicants. He noted that a more comprehensive package of background checks is in order to weed out the employment candidates who even in a robust economy are having difficulty finding work.
