There is an interesting article on Inc.com, giving tips on the best ways to screen your sales people. From the outset, the article quotes Bogb Kreisberg, CEO of Opus Productivity Solutions who says, ” The difference between a good test and a good performance is wider than usual.”
That quote reminds me of all the kids we went to high school with who were good little test takers but had difficulty actualizing their thoughts. Putting theory into reality, if you will. We knew them. Unless you were one of them, you probably didn’t like them. Such is life in high school.
But here we are in the real world where in an economic downturn any margin in our favor can be perceived as a significant advantage. There are any number of personality and talent assessment test out there that claim to deliver the type of result that best ascertain the skill sets and potential of your employment candidate. As the article attests, different testing providers use their own terms and their own spin. There are such breakdowns as to quantify assertiveness and extroversion. There are measured levels of conformity and dominance. Interesting stuff, for sure.
Some companies will utilize these tests in addition to their normal background checks. Some of these tests are taken online by your job candidates. We at Corra Group like to recommend Lighthouse Consulting Services, LLC. Among their other tests, we particularly like their potential assessment group.
Check them out before you hire.
