Google is not the only company suffering from anxiety over finding skilled workers. I have friends and associates who are desperate to hire skilled employees and the only place they claim they can find them is from international sources. In unison, they complain about the H-1B Bottleneck and wonder aloud sometimes why when we have so many unskilled foreign workers we so lack a process that will permit skilled workers from the international pool to find gainful employment in the United States.

And more than a few come from international sources.
So here we are in some sense all dressed up with no place to go. We are slower than we would care to be in developing new technology, providing added goods and services, exploring new business channels. No fun here.
Perhaps with the next administration, officials will perceive a greater urgency and work to establish a more streamlined process. Perhaps.
