Corra Group is preparing for a surge in background checks as advertising and entertainment groups return to production, following the lock down due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The El Segundo, California headquartered background service is centered near Hollywood and provides services to the media and entertainment industry both here and around the world.

“Advertising agencies, especially, are starting to ramp up production,” said Corra Group Co-Founder, Gordon Basichis. “We are getting calls from our production house clients that they have new commercial campaigns that involves talent from around the country.

“Corra Group can offer a complete line of background checks, nationally and globally, “said Basichis. “We work with production companies that will recruit talent from everywhere. They recruit not just for commercials but for reality shoes, cooking shows, and many other productions for television, film, and online media.

Basichis pointed out that with the increase in Internet streaming, companies in the Bay Area and the Silicon Valley has established a footprint in Los Angeles, which is regarded as the entertainment capital of the world. He noted that these companies require background checks for their production talent and often criminal records checks motor vehicle driving records for their production crew as well.

“You never know what types of background checks entertainment and media companies require,” said Basichis. “Most, when they are recruiting talent for commercial and reality shows, require social media reports as well as criminal records checks. Corra Group offers remote hiring capabilities for employers in the technology who have job applicants who will be working remotely. The El Segundo, California based screening service will customize any suite of background checks for the remote hiring of both domestic and international candidates.

“Businesses within the technology industry has long been known for having a business in one locale while hiring any numbers or employee who will be working around the country or even around the world,” said Corra Group Co-Founder, Gordon Basichis. “Working remotely is especially the case with the current persistence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Basichis pointed out that the HR Manager can pick from anyone of a selection of customized employment screening packages and email that specific package to the candidate. He noted the packages can contain any number of background checks, from domestic county criminal searches and Motor Vehicle Driving Records to international criminal searches and international education verification.

Gordon Basichis, Co-Founder of Corra Group, was interviewed recently by Ed Opperman for The Opperman Report. The two discussed on Opperman’s radio show, Basichis’ two most controversial books and his co-founding of Corra Group, which specializes in employment screening, corporate research, and due diligence background checks.

Basichis is the author of Beautiful Bad Girl: The Vicki Morgan Story, the story of department store scion, Alfred Bloomingdale and his long time mistress, Vicki Morgan, that raised an international scandal in the early eighties. He is also the author of The Guys Who Spied for China, which depicts in part the earlier establishment of Chinese Espionage Networks in the United States that have become so controversial today.

“It was a lot of fun interviewing with Ed Opperman for his radio show, The Opperman Report, said Corra Group Co-Founder, Gordon Basichis “Ed is a private investigator and a good interviewer, so he is well versed in a variety of subjects that we were discussing.”

“Beautiful Bad Girl has made a lot of noise over the years, as it depicts the sensational and obsessional love affair between Alfred Bloomingdale and his mistress, Vicki Morgan,” said Basichis. “Bloomingdale was a member of Ronald Reagan’s kitchen cabinet, and the affair had far reaching implications, some of which defined the sexual and social mores of the eighties.

“The Guys Who Spied for China depicted some of my experiences uncovering Chinese Espionage Networks in the eighties and nineties. Of course today our American relationship with China, be it the military threat, the persistent espionage, or trade wars, is garnering almost daily headlines. I believe my book helps describe the oft used refrain, “The Past is Prologue.”

Basichis pointed that in his own life past events led him to ultimately co-found Corra Group with his partner, Nick Gustavson. Basichis noted that the two started their business modestly in a spare bedroom, and over fifteen years they have expanded its footprint domestically and internationally. They are now headquartered in offices in El Segundo, California.
