Another College Adds Background Checks on New Employment Hires

The University of Wyoming is going to start conducting background checks on all its new benefited hires.     This new employment screening process may also be extended into those job applicants who are candidates for non-benefited jobs as well.

According to the Wyoming AP News article, the employment screening program will involve identification verification as well as criminal records background checks and employment credit reports.

This new policy at the University of Wyoming is in keeping with the increased practices among universities and colleges to conduct background checks as part of their pre-employment screening program for new hire.   Despite budgetary constraints, many colleges and universities believe employment screening background checks are vital necessities in this current climate.   Most of quite aware of the various violent incidents at other schools as well as how general misconduct initiated by employees with criminal histories can prove embarrassing and expensive to any institution of learning.
