Start ups are risky ventures, needless to say. Its intrepid entrepreneurs must be prepared to pay attention to everything, including who you hire. In an existing company, you can afford to take a hit when you hire the wrong person. In a start up you don’t have that kind of margin.

Make sure as a start up you have a pre-employment screening program. Be sure to run a criminal background check, and if the person has access to your sensitive databases and proprietary information, run a credit check as well. conduct an education verification to be sure your candidate’s degree isn’t mythical. And run a DMV Report if your candidate is doing any driving.

Check them out before you hire.
